Financial wellness starts at home and U of I Community Credit Union wants to partner with families to help raise money-savvy kids. It’s never too early to start teaching your child the importance of good money management. We provide you the resources and tools you’ll need like free digital banking, account monitoring, card spending limits, and transaction alerts.

Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

  • Parent’s ID – (Drivers License, State ID, Military ID, or Passport)
  • Minor’s birth certificate, state ID, passport, or Legal guardianship paperwork
  • Copy of minor’s social security card

Available to anyone under the age of 18.

Savings

Establish your child’s membership with us today by starting a savings account.

Checking

Think your kid is ready for their own debit card? A checking account is a great way to start helping them manage their money and learn financial responsibility while monitoring their activity. Must be 11 years old to open a checking account.

Money Market

Earn a higher dividend rate on your child’s savings plus the flexibility to access their money on a limited basis. Must be 11 years old to open a money market account.
