At U of I Community Credit Union, we know that having access to your accounts while traveling is important. That is why we provide multiple options for you to view your accounts and perform transactions even when you are not in Champaign/Urbana.
iBranch Online Banking
U of I Community Credit Union offers iBranch online banking so you can access your accounts on the go. iBranch allows you to view account balances, transfer funds, make loan payments, and even pay someone just by using their name and email address. Steps on how to enroll for iBranch can be found here.
We also offer a mobile app to access your iBranch account. You can even deposit checks using your smartphone, tablet, or other mobile device using our Remote Deposit Anywhere (RDA) service. More information about RDA and a step-by-step guide for using it can be found here. If you already have the app and want to start using RDA, contact us at 217-278-7700 or visit one of our branches to be set up.
If you need to perform transactions that cannot be done online or at an ATM, or you prefer to be helped by a person, you can also use shared branches to access your accounts while traveling. Shared branching allows you to visit the branches of other credit unions that also participate in the shared branching network, so you can access your accounts with UICCU through a teller at a different credit union. Our network consists of 5,000 shared branches nationwide where you can deposit money, withdraw funds up to $2,000, transfer money, check account balances, and make loan payments (VISA credit card payments cannot be made at shared branch locations). Make sure you have your ID and account number available when visiting a shared branch location. To find a shared branch, search our branch and ATM locator here and look for the Credit Union Service Center logo.
U of I Community Credit Union members with a debit card can access more than 50,000 ATMs surcharge-free across the nation. In other words, you can access certain ATMs all across the country with no fees for checking your balance or making withdrawals. Finding an ATM is simple, just visit our branch and ATM locator here and type in the address, city or zip code that you will be traveling through/to and look for the green icon with a $ symbol.
Don’t have a checking account with us? Learn more about our checking accounts here, contact us at 217-278-7700, or stop by one of our three branch locations.
Notify UICCU Before Traveling
As a reminder, if you plan to use your UICCU debit/credit cards while traveling, make sure to contact us at 217-278-7700 or by visiting one of our branch locations to notify us of your travel dates/locations. If you do not notify us of your travel plans and you use your debit/credit card while traveling, our systems will detect that a transaction is being made outside of your normal spending patterns and your card may become inactive in order to protect you from fraud.
