We are excited to announce that Touch ID is available on the U of I Community Credit Union Mobile Banking App for iPhone users.
How it Works
Instead of logging into your account with your username and password each time you open the UICCU Mobile Banking App, you can use your fingerprint to login.
How to Get Started
If you haven’t already enabled Touch ID on the UICCU Mobile Banking App, the next time you go to log in you will see an option to “Setup Touch ID Login.” Make sure this is selected, type in your username and password, and click “Sign In”.
You will then be brought to a screen that will ask you to “Enable” Touch ID.
After this point, to login you will simply open the app and place your thumb on the circle home button on your iPhone.
If you did not select “Set Up Touch ID” on the login screen or if you selected “Not Now” at the enable screen, open the menu on the left side of the app while logged in and select “Preferences”. Here you can turn on Touch ID for the app. This is also where you can turn off Touch ID if you ever decide to do so.
Note: Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the U of I Community Credit Union Mobile Banking app to your phone. If your app did not automatically update you can do so in the App Store. Also, If you do not have Touch ID set up on your iPhone yet, you will need to do so in the “Settings” icon before you can begin using it in the app.
How to Set Up Touch ID on Your iPhone
To set up Touch ID on your iPhone, go to your “Settings” icon. Scroll down and find “Touch ID & Passcode”. You will be prompted to enter your 4 or 6 digit Passcode if you have one set up. Here you can turn Touch ID on or off for iPhone Unlock, Apple Pay, and iTunes & App Store. This is also where you set up fingerprints for Touch ID.
Select “Add a Fingerprint” to begin. You will be prompted to place your finger on the circle home button repeatedly. Be sure not to actually click the home button, you are just placing your finger gently on it. You will feel a slight vibration as the gray lines on the fingerprint image begin to turn red. You will then be prompted to adjust your grip to capture more of your fingerprint. Once all gray fingerprint lines have turned red, you will be notified that the process is complete. Click “Continue” to return to the Touch ID & Passcode settings menu. (You are able to add more than one fingerprint if you wish.)
